from Moe Webster - founder of MexicoVacationAwareness.com

I joined “I am an amazing woman” but to tell you the truth, I really don’t feel that “amazing”. What I do feel is broken hearted. I am a Mom seeking not only justice for her son Nolan that died tragically while vacationing in Mexico, but I am also seeking ways to make sure that what happened to Nolan NEVER happens to anyone else.
During the past 34 months I have felt every possible emotion. The main emotion is sadness. It still amazes me how much you can miss someone. The death of Nolan is by far the most heart wrenching journey I have ever been on. What scares me the most about this journey is I know it will never end.
What I have done to help me accept Nolan’s death and at the same time somehow “justify” that his death did have a purpose, is to start a non-profit organization named Mexico Vacation Awareness. This organizations mission is to educate unsuspecting travelers about the many unknown dangers of traveling to Mexico. It is also an organization with a website for people to share their stories. As all of the stories come together in one place we are getting stronger. As we get stronger we can demand change. With the help of my Congressman Ed Markey, we now have a bill in Washington. Bill # H.R. 3099, entitled “The International Travelers Bill of Rights act of 2009” was introduced on July 1st. Although the bill is now sitting in committee we are optimistic that it will pass and positive change will begin.
Do I feel amazing? No. But I do feel empowered and determined to make a difference.
